#1 Bloat the Stain

If the stain is already dried, wet it by pouring some warm water on it. Wait 5-10 minutes to get water into carpet fibers, and then start bloating. Do not rub the stain while bloating. Rubbing will spread it.

#2 Make Cleaning Solution

After bloating the stain and we will make the cleaning solution for the coffee stain. There are carpet cleaning solutions available in the market for removing stains. You can use one of those or make a homemade cleaning solution.

To make a DIY cleaning solution add one tablespoon of vinegar and dishwasher liquid or detergent each to two cups of warm water. Add all of these into a spray bottle or a small bowl and mix the solution thoroughly.

#3 Clean The Stain

Apply an adequate amount of solution to the stained area. You can either spray it or directly apply the cleaning solution using a cloth or sponge. Dip the clean cloth into the solution and dab it gently on the affected carpet area.

After applying the solution, wait 2-5 minutes. The cleaning solution will work on the coffee stain. Afterward, start bloating the stained area again. It will remove the cleaning solution mixed with stain-causing contaminants from your carpet.

#4 Rinse and Dry

It is the last step, rinse the affected area of your carpet with normal water. It ensures that no residue remains in the carpet fibers. Like the cleaning solution, you can spray the water on your carpet or directly pour it. Just make sure it should not be too much.

After rinsing, start bloating the wet carpet area again and remove the water as much as possible for you. Lastly, dry the carpet. You can use a hair dryer to make the process fast.
